     An Iowa native, Dana studied theatre at DePaul University and film at The Academy of Art (San Francisco).  She then trained at the Sanford Meisner School of Acting.  She has worked in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Las Vegas in print, film/tv, and stage.  She had the pleasure of appearing in ALICE CHAN (Alice Chan) for the La Jolla Playhouse Pop Tour, which toured San Diego County schools. 20,000 children were given the invaluable experience of viewing live theatre. Other notable San Diego credits include: ​Peerless, Seminar (Izzy). Stories of the Sun Café (Asian Story Theatre), Drop Off Day and The Grift both productions are a part of La Jolla Playhouse’s Without Walls site specific theatre program and Jade Heart (Jade) at the Moxie Theatre.   Jade Heart was lauded by the critics and received Craig Noel theatre nominations.

            Ms. Lau’s training has helped her secure multiple live hosting jobs and is a former performer at SeaWorld San Diego. She continues to hone her skills by attending a variety of casting, playwriting, VO workshops. She worked as a teaching artist with San Diego Junior Theatre, teaching a variety of classes and workshops.   She has worked with Playwrights Project and Warren Walker Middle School as the 7th grade drama teacher.   She incorporates her knowledge of voice, movement, film training in order to provide a well rounded learning experience to young actors.  She has experience working with the special needs population (mild-mod) in group and one on one settings.

            Dana is now located in Austin, TX and is a successful commercial actor.  Projects are on the horizon, which Dana will be working in several capacities: producing, writing, and starring.  She is teaching artist for ZACH Theatre and faculty for the Acting Conservatory.  She is proud to be represented by  Acclaim Talent (TX, LA).  A member of Actors Equity Association, she serves on the liaison AEA committee Austin/San Antonio.  

 In her down time she stays creative by practicing (and eating) all things baking which is documented on her blog.  Dana is learning Mandarin Chinese to supplement her knowledge in foreign languages. She is proficient in Cantonese Chinese.  Her goal is to be fluent in French, Italian, Spanish and Italian.
